In real life

Real oceans

The ocean covers more than 70% of our planet's surface. It holds about 97% of all the water on Earth. [1]

Corals look like plants, but they are animals! A coral is made of hundreds or thousands of tiny animals, called polyps. [2]

Coral reefs are the largest structures built by living things on Earth. [2]

Near the coasts, in cool waters, there are forests of kelp, a big brown seaweed. Kelp can grow up to 45 centimeters a day! [3]
